Dipper Awards 2021
Annual Dipper Grants awarded in August 2021, as outlined below:
- Cannich Bridge Primary School Parent Council – £1,560.03 Outdoor learning equipment and minibus hire for swimming lessons
- Strathglass & Affric Community Company – £10,000 towards stacking tables and chairs and storage trolleys for events in Cannich Hall
- Strathglass & Affric Community Company – £599.82 Litter picking equipment to support the volunteers who have been clearing litter and worse from Cannich and surrounding area
- Strathglass Shinty Club - £1200 Cover for the running costs of the playing fields and changing rooms during another year when normal fund-raising activities could not take place due to COVID restrictions
- Clachan Comar Fund - £1000 towards the maintenance of the ancient graveyard at Comar and the enhancement of visitor experience there
- Glen Urqhuart High School Parent Council - £3,900 Funding to maintain the minibus service between Drumnadrochit and Cannich / Tomich for after school transport to allow pupils in Strathglass to participate in after school activities such as sports training and study clubs
- Wednesday Whist - £500 Contribution to the Strathglass Christmas Lunch
Dipper Awards 2020
Annual Dipper Grants awarded in August 2020, as outlined below:
- Cannich Bridge Primary School Parent Council – £4,186 Chrome books to enable on-line teaching
- Strathglass & Affric Community Company – Nurses House Project - £10,000 towards conversion of old Nurse’s house into affordable housing for Cannich
- SACC - £1,428 Replacement blinds for Cannich Hall
- SACC - £1,225.20 Replacement furniture for the foyer in Cannich Hall
- SACC - £1,393.84 Upgrade of kitchen equipment for Cannich Hall
- Tomich Resident Association (TRA) – £1,388.49 for the printing costs for a heritage photo book for all residents
Dipper Awards 2019
Dipper Grants awarded in August 2019, as outlined below:
- Wednesday Whist Group – £400 towards pensioners and supporters Christmas lunch
- SACC – £102 for floral displays in the village
- SACC - £4000 for painting of the village hall
- Strathglass Bonfire Group/ Cannich Hogmanay Group – £500 for family fireworks
- Strathglass Marketing Association – £10,000 to continue the planning and construction of the Affric & Kintail Way (long-distance footpath)
- SACC – £3000 towards a community action plan
- Cannich Bridge Primary Parent Council – £1,200 for school resources (Music equipment £500.00, Maths aids for nursery P1/2 £400.00, Cooking equipment £300.00)
Dipper Awards 2018
The first Dipper Grants were awarded in August 2018, as outlined below:
- Cannich Bridge Primary School – £7,500 for smart boards
- Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team – £2,500 for rescue equipment for their vehicle based in Cannich
- Cannich Sports and Recreation Ground Committee - £2,073.50 towards upgrading the kitchen facilities
- Strathglass Heritage Association – £1,000 towards display boards and maps for the heritage centre
- Strathglass Marketing Association – £1,000 towards two all weather marquees for events
- Clachan Comar Fund – £500 towards fencing to secure the ancient burial site from stock
